Respite Care at Home
At Home Respite Care – Supporting You While You Care
At KompleteCare we have lived experience of disability and aged care so we know how rewarding yet exhausting being a regular family carer can be. Whether you’re caring for an elderly family member or a loved one with a disability, it is absolutely essential to try and find a little bit of time for self-care, because caring for others starts with caring for yourself.
Personal Care Assistance
Caring for Your Loved Ones Starts with Caring for Yourself
Carers or family members are often reluctant to enquire about respite services because they feel as though they are not coping or are not doing enough to take care of their loved one. KompleteCare understands the feeling and assures you that we know this is not the case.
You Don’t Have to Do It Alone
Our tailored in-home, overnight or respite care, be it regular, emergency or a once off, give you the chance to rest, recharge, and take that much-needed break. We understand the constant nature of being a regular carer, and how it can sometimes mean you have to miss out on events or activities you enjoy, so let us support you – you don’t have to do it alone.
Flexible, Personalised Respite Care at Home
Our respite care at home is customised to suit your needs. So whether you just need a couple of hours to attend an appointment, a day or night out to connect with friends, a holiday or a relaxing break away from home, you can rely on us to provide genuine, compassionate care, for your loved one from the comfort of home.
NDIS Respite Care & Overnight Care
NDIS Respite care is often funded from the Core Supports budget, which is designed to support daily living activities. This allows for flexibility in using the funds to cover the costs of respite services and overnight support workers when required.
Aged Care Respite Care & Overnight Care
Overnight and respite care is often funded through higher-level Home Care Packages (Levels 3 and 4) due to the more extensive supports they provide. Overnight respite care can often be funded within a Level 3 package, especially if the care recipient has been assessed as needing regular breaks for their caregiver. Level 4 care packages provide the most flexibility and support, making overnight respite care easier to integrate into the care plan regularly.
When Care Needs Change – We’re Here to Help
If you currently have a lower-level package but your needs have changed, our caring team can help arrange for your funding to be reassessment by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) to see if you access a higher level of funding or can advise of a privately paid option to suit you and your budget.
Personal Care Assistance
Compassionate Support When You Need It Most
Respite care at homes is a quick and easy way to provide continuity of care, allowing you to take the time you need, knowing your loved one is in safe and trusted hands. Our experienced support workers are trained in a wide range of disabilities and age-related conditions and are dedicated to providing the highest quality care. Whilst we may not be family, we will certainly care for your loved one like family.
Personalised Care
At home respite care allows for personalised and custom support. We tailor our care around your loved one’s needs to provide a level of personalised, one-on-one care that may not be possible in group care facilities.
Flexibility
Our respite care can be arranged for specific times, such as overnight or weekends, to suit both the caregiver’s and the care recipient’s needs. You can choose the level of care required, from passive sleepover support to active overnight care (see below), ensuring the right level of support is provided when needed.
Continuity of Care
Where possible, our at-home respite care will be provided by the same team of dedicated support workers. So you have the peace of mind of knowing that your loved one is being cared for by trusted and familiar faces, who know and understand their unique needs and preferences.
Comfort and Familiarity
Staying in the home for respite care means your loved one will be in familiar surroundings with all the comforts of home. This can reduce stress and anxiety, especially for those with mental health issues, dementia or sensory sensitivities. Plus, to provide a sense of normalcy and security, we will maintain your daily routines and schedules.

In Home – Overnight Care
Kompletecare provides two types of In home overnight care – Passive Support and Active Overnight care with an overnight support worker. Overnight care is provided in 8-hour blocks and can be booked for any day of the week and public holidays.
Overnight Support Worker
Passive Support
This involves our support worker staying overnight in your home, usually in a separate room or on the couch so they are available to help when required. It is the expectation of a passive overnight shift that the support worker sleeps through the night with the ability to respond if the participant’s needs assistance during the night.
Overnight Support Worker
Active Overnight Support
This is more intensive support and involves the support worker being awake and actively assisting the participant throughout the night. It’s suitable for participants who need constant care, such as assistance with mobility and medication, or those who have more complex health needs.
