South Australia’s largest network of disability-exclusive gyms, Enable Fitness Centre, continues its expansion with the launch of two new state-of-the-art facilities in Kidman Park and St Marys—further cementing their position as a leader in inclusive health, fitness, and rehabilitation services.
These new additions complete a four-site network across metropolitan Adelaide, building on the success of their facilities in Holden Hill and Elizabeth. The latest expansion reflects Enable’s commitment to providing equitable access to specialised fitness and rehabilitation services for people living with disability.
Co-founded in 2019 by Ross Gray and Zoe Darling, Enable Fitness Centre has grown from a single-client operation to a thriving enterprise staffed with over 30 qualified professionals. The addition of the Kidman Park and St Marys centres is a direct response to ongoing community feedback and an increasing need for long-term fitness options beyond traditional hospital-based settings.
Accommodating a range of conditions, each facility is equipped with custom-built, wheelchair-accessible machinery, wide circulation areas, and adaptable spaces. All sessions are conducted under the supervision of accredited exercise physiologists, ensuring clients receive safe and effective support during their workout.
To maintain a calm, low-pressure environment, Enable also operates on an appointment-only basis. This model not only helps manage capacity within the gyms, but allows for greater personalisation and more one-on-one support. Most clients are also said to access Enable’s services through their National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) plan, making participation both accessible and financially manageable.
In addition to its new sites, Enable’s Holden Hill location boasts South Australia’s only hydrotherapy tank with an underwater treadmill. This unique feature supports low-impact resistance training and rehabilitation not available in conventional gym environments. This makes it ideal for those recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, or living with mobility challenges.
Since its inception in 2019, Enable Fitness Centre has grown to support more than 200 clients, many of whom attend sessions multiple times a week. Their steady growth is a testament to a client-first approach, ensuring every decision is informed by real community needs.
With the recent additions of Kidman Park and St Marys, residents across Adelaide now have access to an Enable Fitness Centre’s inclusive, expert-led centres within approximately 20 minutes—bringing inclusive health and rehabilitation closer to more people than ever before.
Enable Fitness Centre locations include:
- Holden Hill: 614 North East Road
- Elizabeth: 10 Gillingham Road
- Kidman Park: 308/320 Grange Road
- St Marys: 1133 South Road
