I Hate Asking for Help || Daniella

Because she was born with Spina Bifida Daniella has had no trouble talking about her differences with others, her youtube channel is dedicated to discussions around how her life is a little different from many of us reading this today. But asking for help is difficult.

As a child, she was taught to be independent with an expectation that she could do anything anyone else can do. Sometimes conceding that she needed help sometimes felt like she was conceding her independence, becoming a burden on others and opening the door for over-helpers to take over her life.
However, the world we live in is sometimes built around the fact that most people walk, upright, on two legs. Light switches at shoulder height for the standing, reception counters and chest hight, steps instead of ramps, doors that assume we have our arms available when we pass through them are all parts of the challenge.

We are always grateful to Daniella for her insight.
